About Me
Welcome to my site and my mission. My name is Jamesha, but many people call me Mesha. I created this website and my salon to address the natural hair care issues facing children with nappy, kinky, or coiled hair. You know the texture of hair that is commonly referred to as not being "Good Hair."
I studied natural hair care at Madame Walker's Braidery and School and Prince Georges Community College, where Marcy and Shanti Walker are the instructors. I must say more like a family. I have received my certifications in Braiding and Loc'ing. I have also received a scholarship to contiue my education at the University of Maryland College Park. I have decided to study African-American History. It is not enough for me to know how to care for natural hair, but I have to understand the history behind why we as a culture of people continue to allow people to rob us of our perception of natural beauty. I for one am not having it anymore. I will do what I can to take it back one strand at a time.
I am also mommy to four beautiful girls of which two are identical twins and I am married to my Marine Corps sweetheart.
I am a Marine Corps Sgt. turned Engineering Designer turned Natural Hair Care Stylist/ Entrepreneur.
If you are interested in joining me in this journey please use this website as a resource, and if there is anything that you want to see added or expanded upon, by all means email me at Info@EbonysBraidery.com.
